Waverly (my kayak) has been getting angry with me lately. I take her everywhere (on the roof of my truck) showing her the sights but I've been a bit slack about giving her the attention she likes on the water.

A quick look out the door this morning and we off for a train. The forecast was basically for rubbish, with a deep low predicted to move in during the afternoon. But it still wasn't to bad as we made our way out to A Bouy. After a quick strech and a chat to some fishermen, we headed off on the now familiar paddle to Karewa Island. The wind and chop soon got up, coming from the East, so we had a quick paddle all the way there. Knowing that we would soon have to paddle back into this, Wavely and I made  sure we had fun as we surfing along. During this time my shoulders started to ache once again which was annoying. I saw a physio mate about this problem during the week and it looks like I had some muscel imbalance in my shoulder blades causing the problems. Anyhow, we had a short break in the lee of the island and headed home. We the wind now around 10-15 knots and in our face it was a much longer trip home, but hey we are getting used to this now. Strangely my shoulders stopped aching but instead the tips of all of my fingers went numb...I must look into this problem.  Total 3.5 hours but sadly no fish today.
