What a rubbish week for weather. It seemed like it was constant wet, windy, cold, or all 3 combined. With that in mind I headed bush for a few hours to scope out the upper Ngamuwahine River that we are thinking about kayaking when we get our next real heavy dump of rain. So I headed in to the river from the grader blade at the top of Whakamaramara. It was pooring with rain and there was a nasty chilling wind blowing. So I found it surprising to find 3 French tourists out for a walk....all wearing jeans and carrying umbrellas! Haha you gota laugh at some muppets in this world. Within an hour I was soaked through and I had my full hunting kit on, so I can only imagine how they would have been feeling. Photo 1. One of the rapids on the Ngamuwahine...needs more water. Photo 2. Magic Mushrooms anyone?
