| Day 91 - Friday 25.02.11 |

Today there is a small improvement in the weather, and Tim gets cracking, leaving behind a real "cats cradle" of SPOT tracks in Cunaris Sound. The very rough seas keep him a little further offshore than he usually travels, but this keeps him away from the "bounceback" waves coming off the coast. It's hard going, but he reaches the safety of Dusky Sound in the early afternoon, and stops for the night on a fishermans barge which is permanently moored in the sound. Tonight, Tim is expecting a fishing boat to arrive with much needed extra supplies. Brent at Back Country Foods has been very generous with all the great food he sends to Tim, especially as he is now flat out sending food to the search & rescue people at the Christchurch earthquake site....Thanks mate. |
