At last.....a break in the weather, and Tim was able to set off early, paddling ten straight hours to get to Islet Cove, 62km from breakfast. In his words - "a massive day that's almost buggered me!" On the plus side, after many days alone, Tim finally has some company at the end of his day, and shares a fish and mussel meal with some trampers.

Today Tim passed another milestone - the southernmost part of his journey, and now at long last it's northwards until he reaches North Cape. Care will be needed for the next day's paddling because there's very few safe places to come ashore along the Stewart Island coastline, and the forecast isn't too wonderful.
