Day 17 - Monday 13 December

Yay! it's a nice day, not too much wind or waves.

A late 7am start at the Napier boat club ramp, then around the corner & a straight line across the bay, with a mid day stop at Cape Kidnappers. Tim reckoned that lunch at the gannet colony was the highlight of his day.

After lunch, onwards to Kairakau to complete a fairly tough 65km day. To cap the day off, a local couple (Pam & Kim) invited Tim up for a shower & a meal....a very welcome end to the day.

The weather for the coastline ahead is often gale force winds, but fortunately, the forecast is looking pretty good.
