| Day 7 - Friday 3 December |
|
Crikey, a 6am start to the day! The weather is average to bad, but there is an adventure to be had after all eh? A 3 metre swell & 20 knot winds didn't put Tim off today, & he covered a lot of water in approx 10 hours of hard slog. Lunchtime was just past Hicks Bay at Te Araroa, & then it was off again to pass the first milestone of the journey.....rounding the easternmost part of mainland New Zealand....congratulations from all of us Tim. When Tim came ashore for the night he sent a text message to Mum & Dad on his satellite phone "It was possibly the hardest paddle that I've ever done, but I'm safe now in a cosy camp" |
